Operations Manager – RSC (Respiratory Supply Chain)

직무 내용

근무지: UK - Hertfordshire - Ware
포스팅 날짜: Apr 3 2025

We are looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join our Respiratory Supply Chain (RSC) manufacturing team at GSK’s manufacturing site at Ware (Hertfordshire).  This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your leadership skills and develop your expertise within a world leading pharmaceutical company.

Our Ware facility is a key secondary manufacturing site within the GSK network, with responsibility for bringing ground-breaking respiratory medicines to people all over the world at the right quality and the right price.  Our Manufacturing Operations teams are central to our site’s role to develop, manufacture and launch GSK’s innovative medicines globally.

Job Purpose:

Reporting directly into the Value Stream Director (for Respiratory Supply Chain & Micronising), the purpose of the Operations Manager is to manage a team of highly technical subject matter experts who are tasked with day-to-day production within the Respiratory manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will also identify, implement and support operational improvements & design performance management systems that are aligned to site priorities, whilst ensuring focus on safety, quality and compliance is maintained at all times.

  • Provide clear development and direction for the operations team by creating and executing an up-skilling programme for team members.  This includes performance reviews with 70/20/10 development plans in place and in use, setting training targets and evaluating training results – aligned to achieving departmental goals.

  • Coach and motivate a team towards delivering the Safety, Quality, Supply Chain Customer Service and Cost objectives.  Be accountable to report unsafe acts and hazards and encourage others to work safely.

  • Responsible for achieving the annual unit performance targets, through the attainment and delivery of objectives and site change plans in line with the Ware Business Plan.

  • Utilise GPS standards to drive (and sponsor) change and improvement programmes to deliver the strategy plan.

About You:

This role would suit a highly motivated person who has strong experience working in a cross-functional, global supply organisation.  You will be self-motivated and have experience of working in a complex, technical manufacturing environment.  Ideally, you will be degree-qualified with detailed knowledge of logistics/manufacturing (ideally gained from working in a highly-regulated industry; eg strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) procedures and safety).  You must have demonstrably strong people skills, be resilient and calm under pressure, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and a proven ability to drive performance.

About Ware Manufacturing Site:

We are co-located with our R&D colleagues and recently opened a new, state-of-the-art oral solid dose facility at Ware.  At this location our scientists, technicians and engineers (from R&D and Global Supply Chain – GSC)  work collaboratively together (using the latest technologies) to rapidly knowledge transfer and deliver GSK’s most innovative, medicines faster and more efficiently.  On site we produce over 60 million respiratory inhalers each year with growing demand in future years.  The site also processes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) for use both on site and other manufacturing sites in our network.

APPLICATION CLOSING DATE – Tuesday 22nd of April 2025 (COB).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant Management experience gained from a highly regulated manufacturing industry (eg; thorough understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)).

  • Strong experience of technical (e.g. engineering / logistics / manufacturing / etc.) core skills in manufacturing industries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in relevant discipline (eg; Scientific, Technical, Engineering).
