Medical Advisor – Specialty Care (respiratory, immunology and inflammation)

GSK is looking for a Medical Advisor in Specialty Care area. You will build and own the Medical Affairs Plan and accordingly deliver scientific engagement activities in the assigned portfolio of GSK medicines. As the Medical Advisor, you will build professional relationships with stakeholders and key external experts as well as deliver advanced and innovative projects addressing unmet medical needs in relevant therapeutic area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Represent Management during field interactions with Health Care Professionals and support key opinion leaders and advocate relationship development and maintenance within the key biologic treatment centres

  • Engage in one-on-one scientific dialogue with external experts around GSK’s specialty medicines

  • Collaborate with cross- functional team (e.g. sales, marketing, market access, etc.) to ensure that strategies and business plans are both patient and business focused

  • Contribute to wider business objectives by leading cross-functional projects, managing the medical affairs Specialty Care budget and collaborating with matrix partners

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Operational Team

  • Provide medical review/approval of promotional materials and other promotional activities        

  • Timely disseminate important scientific and safety information to healthcare professionals

  • Develop and maintain highest standard of knowledge and expertise in the biological therapy area (respiratory, immunology and inflammation) including competitors’ medicines data

  • Propose, design and lead innovative Specialty Care projects for advancing standard of care and fostering optimal use of our therapeutics for benefit of patients

  • Attend scientific meetings and congresses

  • Office based in Warsaw with about 30% of time for in-field engagement.

Why you?

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry, in respiratory/immunology/inflammation therapy area

  • Professional medical knowledge and education background in medicine or pharmacology; alternatively life sciences background with PhD

  • Experience in customer contact with physicians and other stakeholders in the health system

  • A demonstrated understanding of the Polish healthcare environment, including knowledge of health technology assessments and market access challenges

  • Understanding of Pharmaceutical ethics and governance; and a clear understanding of pharmaceutical compliance policies and procedures

  • Successful and superior influencing skills across all levels of the organization and with external collaborators

  • Very good communication skills and high negotiation skills  

  • Project and process management skills

  • A good command of spoken and written English
