Job Purpose:

To provide a high level of medical expertise and leadership to achieve company’s objectives in assigned therapeutic area and business goals.

Key responsibilities:

In assigned Therapeutic Area: Vaccine

  • Leading the therapy team on ownership & delivery of the medical aspects of the therapy area business plans, including key evidence generation plans, external expert engagements, scientific communication while closely collaborating with cross-functional colleagues and the relevant above country teams for both launch & pipeline assets.

  • Lead, coach, manage & develop their medical therapy team to help deliver the GSK mission and to ensure achievement of company objectives, including

    • Setting business objectives and priorities and conducting appraisals to drive performance.

    • Creation of a working environment conducive to successful implementation and team development

    • Generate and implement high quality medical strategic and tactical plans and activities that address patient, customer, and business needs.

  • Uphold the highest compliance standards & provide authoritative opinion on medical and ethical matters to support colleagues across GSK, enabling the evidence- based use of GSK medicines and compliance with the relevant statutory requirements.

  • Deliver high quality & tailored external engagement across the healthcare system & through strategic medical partnerships to develop insight and understanding of the value of our medicines now and in the future.

  • Influencing evidence generation strategies in support of Korea market needs & support research activities including.

    • Knowledge of Korea clinical practice, patient journey and treatment landscape input where required into study allocation process and implementation of studies in the Korea

    • Plan/Support compassionate program including early access program and/or named patient programmes when patient unmet needs exist

    • To provide input into post study analysis where required.

    • Study accountable person for regulatory mandated safety study

  • Support pharmacovigilant activities in respective therapeutic area including overseeing implementation of Safety RMP locally, including aRMM and Authority to give approvals of RMP implementation report (Exception: Educational materials for HCPs, which are developed by ML require CMD approval.)

Requirements:

  • A medical degree with a wealth of clinical and/or industry experience in relevant therapeutic area (infectiology preferred)

  • MD perferred

  • Good understanding of clinical trials and associated regulations (GCP, local regulations)

  • Must be native in Korean and fluent in English

  • Leadership, Decision making, Problem solving, Managerial skills, managerial experience is preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Commercial acumen aligned with business strategy

  • Good ethics and business integrity mindset
