This role will provide YOU with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…

  • Supports all deliverables of the Vice President and Respiratory TA Head, serving as a de facto Chief of Staff and helping the VP oversee and manage the entire TA team.
  • Partner with assigned Asset Medical Lead(s) to drive optimal medicine strategy planning and delivery of the medical plan team’s operating model within the medical teams, with a focus on alignment with TA/disease strategy, resolving complex challenges, incorporating team building and training, and identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive effective processes and standards on all aspects of the US Medical Affairs Strategic Planning Process, in alignment where needed with global and commercial, that effectively leverages the unmet medical need framework, mVOC, and other external/internal intelligence 
  • Instill strong discipline and effective project management discipline in driving aligned, timely, and high quality delivery of medical plan for assigned medicine(s)
  • Lead and champion Patient Engagement activities for Respiratory, both representing USMA and engaging cross-functionally for a comprehensive One-GSK strategy, including spearheading relationships with the Respiratory PAGs and Health Professional Associations (HPAs)  
  • Provide day-to-day operations support for medical matrix teams, including team communications, agenda management, meeting facilitation, team documentation, and appropriate compliance. 
  • Facilitate effective partnership, interaction, and communication at the medicine level across the USMA matrix and between USMA and key GSK stakeholders with particular emphasis on partnership with US Commercial and Global Medical
  • Ensure Senior Medical Leads are effectively prepared to represent US voice/needs across our entire USMA matrix at GMAT and MCT
  • Represent USMA on the Commercial Funding Committee.
  • Steadfast commitment to the ongoing professional development of the talent reporting into the role and other in the organization as appropriate.  Effective management of talent reporting directly into role

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors Degree, Scientific, Health Care, and/or Business Graduate Degree

  • Proven leadership skills working with Global and local matrix teams

  • Ability to lead through change and independently lead projects
  • Direct Medical Affairs experience and/or cross-functional engagement with Medical Affairs (5+ years)
  • Pharmaceutical experience (10+ years)

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Masters in Business Administration
  • Advanced Science / Health Care Degree
  • Demonstrated high level of strategic and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously
  • Proven organizational, planning, and business acumen skills
  • Ability to prioritize business needs and flexibility to address them when business appropriate; lead through change
  • Capable of flexing/adapting to changing business priorities and marketplace/customer needs
  • Ability to make informed strategic decisions and have foresight to predict/anticipate future scenarios
  • Lead complex, cross functional teams and subject matter experts; develop long term planning strategies, programs,  and ability to independently implement
  • Demonstrated ability to work across boundaries and geographies effectively
  • Ability to lead, coach and teach others
