Are you a visionary leader with a passion for leveraging data to drive business transformation? As the BI Lead at GSK, you will drive data-driven insights that propel growth and competitive advantage. In this role, you will shape our BI strategy, implement state-of-the-art technologies, and cultivate an environment of innovation while partnering with commercial leaders to build compelling data insights and tell impactful data stories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight and Leadership:
    • Define and execute an overarching BI strategy aligned with GSK’s growth objectives and market trends.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership and commercial teams to translate strategic business needs into robust BI initiatives that drive decision-making across the organization.
  • Innovation and Future-Proofing BI:
    • Champion the integration of emerging technologies—including AI, cloud-based platforms (Azure), and advanced BI tools (Power BI, AI/BI Genie, Unity Catalog)—into our analytical frameworks.
    • Lead initiatives to build the future of BI by piloting innovative data solutions, enhancing data governance, and streamlining analytics processes to support agile business environments.
    • Oversee the development and refinement of advanced forecasting models and AI-driven analytical solutions that adapt to dynamic market conditions.
  • Operational Excellence and Data Insight:
    • Ensure the seamless implementation and continuous improvement of reporting systems, forecasting tools, and performance dashboards.
    • Establish robust frameworks for data quality, accuracy, and compliance within a regulated pharmaceutical landscape.
    • Partner with commercial leaders to build deep, actionable data insights that drive strategic business decisions.
    • Develop and promote data storytelling techniques that transform complex data into clear, engaging narratives for senior leadership and business units.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication:
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the BI team, digital & technology, finance, and commercial units, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
    • Translate complex data findings into compelling insights and recommendations through effective data storytelling, ensuring that key messages resonate with diverse audiences.
    • Lead cross-departmental initiatives that leverage data analytics to enhance business performance and operational efficiency.
  • Team Development and Talent Management:
    • Build and nurture a high-performing BI team by identifying talent needs, providing mentorship, and fostering professional growth.
    • Develop training programs and best practice frameworks to continually elevate the analytical capabilities of the organization.
    • Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and the proactive adoption of new technologies.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT, Business, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in Business Intelligence and analytics within a complex, regulated industry—preferably the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills with a demonstrated ability to drive high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in advanced BI tools and methodologies, including forecasting models, data science, and cloud-based analytics (Azure, Power BI, SQL, Python).
  • Strong strategic thinking and communication skills, with a track record of transforming data insights into actionable business outcomes through effective storytelling.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a senior BI or analytics leadership role, overseeing multiple teams or functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technology trends such as AI, machine learning, and next-generation data platforms (AI/BI Genie, Unity Catalog).
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate and adapt to market trends and technological disruptions.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with a history of partnering effectively with commercial leaders and executive management.
